Cacao Tree Cafe is a plant-based cafe in Royal Oak, Michigan, dedicated to serving wholesome, thoughtfully prepared cuisine while creating a welcoming sense of community. With a focus on plant-based living, fresh ingredients, handmade dishes, and sustainability, the cafe offers everything from salads and wraps to house-made soups and desserts.
As Cacao Tree Cafe continued to serve its community and expand its online presence, they needed a website that could better showcase their food, mission, menu, events, and plant-based lifestyle resources. The new website was created to bring all of these elements together in a clean, welcoming digital experience that reflects the heart of the cafe and makes it easier for visitors to explore the menu, learn more about the cafe, and place an order online.

The challenge
Cacao Tree Cafe already had an established brand, logo, website, and content, but their existing website needed a more modern and organized experience. Important information such as their menu and upcoming events needed to be easier for visitors to find, while the ordering process needed to connect seamlessly with their existing online ordering system.
The goal was to refresh the website without losing the identity Cacao Tree Cafe had already built. The redesign needed to make the site feel more polished, improve navigation, better showcase their menu and events, and give customers a clearer path from browsing the website to placing an order.
What we built
Unicornasaurusrex redesigned the existing Cacao Tree Cafe website while keeping their established logo, brand identity, and existing content intact. The focus was on creating a cleaner, more modern layout that made the cafe's information easier to explore and the customer journey more straightforward.
We also added dedicated menu and events content to give visitors a better way to discover what Cacao Tree Cafe offers and what's happening at the cafe. The website was also connected to their existing Square online ordering system, allowing customers to move from the website directly into the ordering experience.

What changed
